What Do Belts Do?

You have three kinds of belts under the hood. Your timing belt helps the crankshaft turn the engine camshaft and synchronizes the movement of the valves and pistons. If it breaks, your engine will stop running. If your model is newer, though, it may feature a more durable timing chain instead.
